Tabernash sits on US-40 between Fraser and Granby, about 10 minutes from Fraser, 20 minutes from Winter Park Resort and 20 minutes from Granby. Devil's Thumb Ranch (cross-country skiing, horseback riding and a spa), Pole Creek Golf Club, YMCA of the Rockies and the national forest are all here.

There are very few shops or services in town, so groceries and errands mean a drive. Students attend East Grand schools in Fraser and Granby.
