Real estate in Grand Lake

Colorado's largest natural lake, a historic boardwalk and the west entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park.

Living in Grand Lake

Grand Lake is the largest natural lake in Colorado, and the town on its shore has a historic boardwalk, Shadow Mountain Lake and Lake Granby next door, and the west entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park at its edge. Grand Lake Golf Course is a big draw, and there's lake and river fishing and hundreds of miles of trails for hiking, biking, snowmobiling and camping.

Summer is the busy season. Winter is much quieter, with fewer year-round services, and Granby is about 20 minutes away on US-34. Trail Ridge Road crosses the park to Estes Park in summer. Students attend East Grand schools in Granby.

Homes in Grand Lake

  • Lakefront and lake-view homes, many of them luxury homes.
  • Historic log cabins, some near the boardwalk.
  • Newer mountain homes built for year-round use.
  • Columbine Lake and the Shadow Mountain area.

Many homes are second homes, and Grand Lake is one of the county's busiest short-term rental areas. Lakefront costs more, and the shoreline drives much of that value.
